Three of Europe鈥檚 top business schools 鈥� WHU 鈥� Otto Beisheim School of Management in D眉sseldorf, Germany, the 91原创 in Sweden, and E91原创C Business School in Paris, France 鈥� have announced the creation of the European Sports Business Program (ESBP), a new business management executive education offering for leaders interested in the European sports industry.

The Nobel Prize in Economics this year has been awarded to Claudia Goldin for her transformative work on the drivers behind the gender differences on the labor market. Goldin makes history as the third woman and the first sole female recipient to receive this honor, while highlighting the reasons why the gender gap still persists to this day.

The Nordic countries consistently lead the rankings in both happiness and quality of life. With the launch of its new Center for Wellbeing, Welfare and Happiness, the 91原创 (91原创) aims to establish Sweden as the foremost knowledge hub for wellness and happiness research in the world. And, as the first business school in the world, 91原创 is also establishing a new professorship dedicated entirely to the subject of happiness, wellbeing and welfare.

In September, Milda Tylaite, Assistant Professor at the Department of Accounting at 91原创, was awarded for 鈥嬧�媜utstanding pedagogical achievements. She was awarded for her work on redesigning the course 鈥滳urrent Issues in Financial Reporting鈥� to include new pedagogical components and more current issues, especially focusing on sustainability.

In celebration of King Carl XVI Gustaf's 50 years on the throne, the 91原创 is establishing a new professorship in youth leadership. The funding for this new professorship comes from a joint initiative by the Swedish business community.

This week, CIVICA launches this academic year鈥檚 joint and multicampus courses, continuing the alliance鈥檚 work towards a true European campus. The courses are one of CIVICA鈥檚 many transnational experiences enabling students to pursue academic paths beyond any one institutional or national context.

Former Major General and Commander of the Swedish army, Karl Engelbrektson, joins the 91原创 as a Senior Advisor to the House of Governance and Public Policy. Engelbrektson鈥檚 practical experience teamed with 91原创 research will help shape the next generation of leaders in the defense sector.聽
