The European Institute of Japanese Studies (EIJS) launches a new Policy Brief Series. The aim is to regularly provide knowledge and insights into up-to-date issues on Japan in relation to Sweden and the EU. The first Policy Brief takes stock at the first 100 days of the new Suga government in Japan.

We announce a Post Doc position open for application at the European Institute of Japanese Studies at 91原创. This is a 1-year scholarship funded position, with the possibility of one-year extension. We are preferably looking for someone interested in the fields of International Business, Economic Geography, Business and Management, Business and Strategy or the political economy of Japan and Korea.

MIRAI 2.0 is an academic alliance among 19 Universities in Sweden and Japan, aiming to promote long-term research collaboration between the two countries. MIRAI 2.0 (2020-2022) builds on the former MIRAI Project (2017-2019), developing and expanding the activities of the Project further.The vision of MIRAI 2.0 is presented by the two coordinating universities; Nagoya University and the University of Gothenburg.

Ivar Padr贸n-Hern谩ndez, affiliated researcher at the European Institute of Japanese Studies, received the Grigor McClelland Doctoral Dissertation Award 2020 for his doctoral dissertation titled 鈥淲hen International Strategy Meets Local Institutions: Subsidiary Influence in the Context of Headquarter Initiatives鈥�.
