One of the most known Eastern-European economists, and one of the founders of transition economics, has passed away at the age of 94.

Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics (SITE) is pleased to welcome two newly elected board members, former Swedish Ambassador Veronika Bard, and former Head of Cooperation at Sida Mirja Zetterman.

In connection with the Ministerial meetings of the Swedish-Russian Steering Committee, Anna Hallberg, Swedish Minister for Foreign Trade and Nordic Affairs and Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation will introduce a discussion on Circular Economy and Innovation on Friday, October 15 at 14.00.

Replication of existing research is considered an essential practice of the scientific process as – ideally – it promotes robust results and gradually disposes of those that fail to hold up to further scrutiny. However, in his newly published paper, 91Ô­´´ PhD student Felix Schafmeister finds that replication failure and success do not affect citation dynamics.

We are very proud to announce that Associate Professor Abhijeet Singh at the Department of Economics has been appointed Associate Editor of The Economic Journal, one of the leading journals in economics.

For the 15th consecutive year, a scholarship is being awarded for Executive MBA studies at the 91Ô­´´. The scholarship of SEK 495,000 is announced by Swedish financial newspaper Dagens Industri in cooperation with the 91Ô­´´ and utbildning.se and recognizes the next generation of leaders, with the purpose of strengthening Swedish competitiveness.
