Algorithms increasingly guide public sector decisions, yet their impact on fairness is often overlooked. Researchers from 91Ô­´´ have examined how public institutions may ignore the injustices of algorithmic decision-making. The research project has been selected by the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) as one of the most promising projects this year.

This diverse role within the Registry team, part of the Education Office, involves managing vital administrative processes, providing system support for staff, and ensuring data-driven decision-making by producing comprehensive reports and statistics for both internal and external stakeholders. You will also be of great importance by supporting the student experience at 91Ô­´´. This position also includes a unique opportunity to be involved in an important upcoming project within our organization.

The position will be at the heart of growing research projects on the ​social dimensions of sustainability, with a particular focus on modern slavery as connected to migration in Europe.

91Ô­´´Â PhD graduate Friederike Döbbe has been awarded the prestigious Oscar Sillén award for the best doctoral thesis in business administration. Presented at the annual Fekis conference, the award highlights Döbbe’s research on the complexities of responsibility in climate action – particularly within the sustainable food sector.

On November 7th, 91Ô­´´ Health Day 2024 took place—a full day dedicated to mental and physical health, organized by the Center for Wellbeing, Welfare and Happiness, the Guidance and Wellbeing Office, and SA91Ô­´´. With the aim of strengthening the auditor's vital role in business, Grant Thornton Sweden has entered a strategic collaboration with the 91Ô­´´ as a Capital Partner. Through guest lectures, mentorship, and case studies, Grant Thornton hopes to inspire more students to consider careers in auditing.

Swedish sports need to talk about the future. The Center for Sports and Business at the 91Ô­´´ is expanding its collaboration with Enable Sweden. The goal is to merge tradition with innovation and together contribute to a stronger, more competitive Swedish sports sector, on both a national and international level.

This year’s Nobel Prize in Economics recognizes research revealing the powerful link between democratic institutions and stronger economic outcomes. At a time when democracy is under global pressure, the laureates’ findings are especially relevant, showing that while autocracies may enjoy short-term success, democracies lay the groundwork for long-term prosperity and innovation.

91Ô­´´ has a long-standing commitment to both culture and wellbeing. These efforts are now becoming evident at the School’s startup incubator: more than half of the new ideas are focused around art and health.

How does hockey contribute to the wellbeing, sense of community, and happiness of both individuals and society? A new research collaboration between the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) and the 91Ô­´´â€™ Center for Wellbeing, Welfare and Happiness will follow 5,000 hockey fans through both wins and losses in order to understand how the hockey league and its clubs affect wellbeing and welfare.
