FAQ Impact Day
If I engage in something in the evening, am I entitled to overtime?
No. You can arrange the time for your impactful activity as you wish, but there will be no compensation for unsocial hours or overtime pay.
Can I choose a different day other than May 13th to engage in something?
That day is the primary day to get involved, but if you, for example, teach or work in the info center, you can change the day if it suits the operations. Talk to your immediate manager about that possibility. You can only change the day if you need to be working from the office that day. It does not apply if you are on vacation, sick, or attending a course that day.
What happens if I can't find anywhere to be?
Please contact the 91Ô´´ Impact Day workgroup at impactday@hhs.se as early as possible.
Should I report my worked volunteer time in any way?
No.
What is the purpose of "Impact Day"?
"Impact Day" aims to contribute to society, promote internal cultural building, enhance cooperation, and provide opportunities to meet people you usually don't meet. Additionally, research shows that volunteer work increases happiness through helping others. We have chosen to make a difference in society on a common day.
What volunteer activities are offered during the day?
There are various options for volunteer work. You can either choose to organize something yourself or participate in activities that the workplace has organized through collaboration with other organizations (more info to come). You can also engage in activities that do not require collaboration with an organization, such as visiting a nursing home, visiting a school, tutoring newcomers, visiting a homeless shelter, etc.
What preparations do I need to make before "Impact Day"?
Consider whether you want to find your own volunteer work or if you want to participate in activities that the workplace has organized.
Are there any costs to participate in "Impact Day"?
No, there are no direct costs to participate. You are responsible for any travel expenses yourself. You will not be reimbursed for any expenses.
How is working time handled during "Impact Day"?
You will be given time off from your regular duties if you choose to participate. Participation is not mandatory. Notify your manager if you intend to work as usual.
What if I want to participate in "Impact Day" but can't because I have a job that is critical to the operation on that day?
If you need to work on that day, you can discuss the possibility of volunteering on another day with your manager.
