CSB at the Academy of Management in Copenhagen

This year鈥檚 Academy of Management (AOM) conference, the largest annual gathering of management and organization scholars, brought together more than 13,000 participants in Copenhagen. Among the many areas represented, sports-related management research continues to gain traction.
The Paper Development Workshop (PDW) on sports and management, organized for the 10th time by Professors Paolo Aversa and Dmitry Sharapov, was one of several sessions highlighting ongoing interest in the field.
Some of these developments include:
- Since 2012, over 140 sports-related articles have been published in top-ranked management journals, as defined by the Financial Times list.
- In total, more than 249 such articles have appeared in FT journals since 1972.
- There are now discussions of forming a separate division within the to leverage this growth.
The Center for Sports and Business has been actively involved in these developments and welcomes the increased visibility of sports within the broader management research landscape. The coming years are expected to offer continued opportunities for collaboration and contribution.
