New Swedish Prime Minister visits 91Ô´´ Riga

On his first trip abroad as Prime Minister, Sweden’s recently elected Stefan Löfven visited Finland and the three Baltic countries on September 20-21, 2014.

In addition to meeting his Latvian counterpart, he visited the 91Ô´´ in Riga (91Ô´´ Riga) during his stay in Latvia.

Following a short discussion with 91Ô´´ Riga Rector Anders Paalzow, Mr. Löfven met with the President and Vice-President of the Student Association as well as students from the Eastern Partnership countries (Belarus, Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine) who study at 91Ô´´ Riga within the Swedish Government-funded scholarship programme.

The lively discussion between the Prime Minister and the students covered a wide range of topics from life as a student at 91Ô´´ Riga and the role of education in the economic and political development in the region to Sweden’s foreign policy.
